Suggest Diet To Improve Hemoglobin Levels During Pregnancy

Hello, My wife is pregnant (5 months now). We went for a doctor check up, the blood is very low (8.9). Doctor was serious in advise. My wife is a very poor eater. Because of vomitings too, she is taking less food. First pregnancy was an abortion because of hydroid problem. I m worried. How do I make her eat blood producing food (and what all can I give her) Please advise..

I understand your concern.
For raising Hb% in blood - Iron rich diet along with high protein 7 vitamin supplements of diet are necessary.
- Milk, Legumes & pulses ,sprouts, egg,& other non spicy nonveg food items provide high proteins.
_ green vegetables,egg, beans, salads, curd/ butter milk, non veg food form good sources of iron.& vitamins.
- vitamin B12, vitaminC( citrous fruits& folic acid are important for Hb rise.
* Your wife has poor appetite,& vomiting . It can be due to lack of appetite, digestion, hyper acidity. Please consult your doctor for help to get rid of these. Poor digestion/ worm infestation favors anemia. Get investigated & treated as pewr need.
- small & frequent servings of food help digestion.
- She can try fruit juices, soups of green vegetables/ non veg items for easy digestion.
In addition Iron replacement in form of oral/ injectable form will help rise of hb%.
_ Blood transfusion ofter grouping & cross matching of donor is the last resort to treat sever anemia.
- Having fresh of lemon juice after having these tonics helps absorption of iron.
- She should check HB% once a month to assure Hb% improvement.

- she should take optimum exercise under expert's guidance .. this will improve appetite & digestion.
