Suggest Diet To Bring Uric Acid To Normal?

my husband is suffering with hypothyroidism for past 5 yrs. since last 1.5months he's switched to homeopathy, initially the result was amazing but then the swelling in his body became persistent along with lot of back ache and loss of energy. he got his urine tested at the advice of the doc and was found out that sr. uric acid was 7.6. i want to know what should he include or remove from his regular diet and essential food items to come back to normal. can normalcy b achieved permanently. he smokes regularly and we r vegetarians. thanks

Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern for the high uric acid and the dietary measures.
Your husband should avoid alcohol (if he consumes), red meat, organ meals, beans, sea foods like shrimps, dry fruits, vegetables like spinach, pulses, etc. These food stuff contain high purine content which can increase the serum uric acid level hence they should be avoided. He should increase the intake of oral fluids, reduce his body weight if obese/ Hope the dietary measures suggested above would be useful in bringing his uric acid level to its normal value.
A feedback is appreciated.
