Suggest Diet Restrictions For Elevated SGPT Levels

Hi, my name is Maria. I m concern about my sgpt only. I had my laboratory results with high sgpt of 150. And after that I m taking Livolin once a day and went down to 56. Now, when I checked again went high to 80. I m taking esentiale twice a day. Is it ok? What will I do for my diet?

I can understand your concern.

I can understand that you are very anxious about your health.
Jaundice can be due to many causes like Hepatitis , gall stone disease(acute cholecystitis) , pancreatitis - to name a few.
Mere dietary adjustments often cannot cure it.
It would have been great had I examine you on my own.
You need to undergo a few tests to find out the exact cause.



I would suggest you to

- Avoid oily, fatty food
- Drink plenty of fluid
- Do not smoke.Stop alcohol
- Have a BLAND DIET .
- Repeat the abdominal ultrasound, Complete blood count , Liver function test, platelets, urea, creatinine , electrolytes done - This will help in the diagnosis
- Continue to take the Essentiale L capsule - 1 capsule thrice a day.
- Continue to take Livolin

Visit a gastro-enterologist . He or she can examine you and correlate clinically. Consult with your oncologist.
