Suggest Diet Plans To Reduce Liver Enzyme Levels

hi, - I m 55 years old, male - not overweight, generally healthy. recent test shows SGOT of 48 and SGPT of 35. - I m on a no carb/no sugar diet since 8 month which solved a big pain problem in lower back. - what does my SGOT of 48 mean and is further testing needed? - how could I reduce it through diet?

Hi welcome to HMC. thank you for posting your query. SGPT AND SGOT levels can be brought down by lifestyle changes and regular physical activity .SGPT AND SGOT is the most sensitive indicator of liver cell injury. elevated levels occur in fatty liver, hepatitis, liver cancer, cirrhosis.liver problems can also cause kidney problems, heart problems, strokes.
i advise you to avoid alcohol completely and quit from smoking, have a healthy and balanced diet. avoid fatty foods. go for regular increased physical activities, if you have diabetes keep the blood sugar levels under control. get regular check ups from your doctor.
