General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Acute pancreatitis will take about a month for complete recovery. This is because it takes some time for the pancreatic tissue to recover back to normal. What medications has been prescribed should be taken for the specified period.
You need to completely avoid intake of fatty diet, sweets, alcohol and coffee.
Adequate fluid intake is also recommended to prevent dehydration.
In addition, you can take dietary supplements which include multivitamin with antioxidant vitamins A, B complex, C, E, D and trace minerals like zinc, magnesium, selenium and calcium, Omega-3 fatty acids like fish oil, Coenzyme Q10, Probiotics and Alpha lipoic acid.
Gradually, you can switch over to your normal healthy diet after a month.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you speedy recovery.
