Suggest Diet Chart To Control Blood Sugar Levels

I am 50 years old, weigh 140 my problem is high blood sugar, I was given several pills to control it. Was not working after months, so doc sent me to a diabetes specialist. (Endo) she put me on an injection pen that required once per day. That was not working....so I am now on Novolog flex pen and on a sliding scale unit. Injecting each time I eat. Today my blood sugar counts have been 8AM 283, 10 AM 323, 11 AM 301, 12 noon 298. I ate breakfast at 9, two eggs, 1/4 cup of refried beans and one small tortilla. For lunch at noon I had two ham rollups with cream cheese. *frustrated*

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
First of all your blood sugar levels are very high even on Novolog flexpen. These sugars levels will not reduce only by dietary changes. You should consult your doctor to adjust your insulin doses which are to be given through Novolog flexpen.
As per dietary changes you should reduce the amount of carbohydrates & sugars in diet. For good blood sugar control, space your meals about four to six hours apart. Eating meals at around the same time each day may also help keep your blood sugar steady. Eat bulk of non-starchy vegetables such as salad, greens, broccoli, green beans, or beets.lean meat, fish, tofu, eggs, cheese, or poultry should be taken in small amount. You could also take small amount of bread, rice, potatoes, or pasta. Sugars intake should be stopped.

Consult to your endocrinologist as high blood glucose levels could be harmful to you
Good luck
