Suggest Cure For Swelling In The Eye

Yes, I am taking Victoza in the morning and Metformin HCL ER in the evening. I am also on a protein drink/vitamin plan right now where you start to replace the evening drink with a vegetarian meal and then add vegetarian meals for breakfast and lunch along with the protein shake and vitamins. I have returned to a workout regimen also. I switched to the new medication from Januvia and Glimiperide in December(1 1/2 mo ago), and was on that for 2 years, with blood sugars at 250 or so. In the last two weeks with the new meds + exercise + diet I am in the 100's! I have some nausea in the morning, but not concerned about that. I am getting sleepy at a normal hour and getting a good sleep(have not had for years) and also sleepy mid-day. Is this normal and good or a side effect of the medication? Also, my eyes are extremely bloodshot and feel like someone punched me. I have been to an Opthamologist/Optomotrist for 10 years and never was told that I had retinopathy even though my sugars were consistently high for 7 years. I was on 2000mg a day of Metformin back then. My eyes felt more swollen back then and extra sugar intake cause them to be a little leaky. Now I feel my eyes have "shrunk"....not quite so swollen, but very red blood vessels and blurry vision, reading only. Was all that damage underlying and is now showing up? I am confused. I thought that the glucose was not reaching my eyes and they would be more "swollen" once the insulin receptors opened up the cells. I intend to get a check up, but would like your opinion.
