Sore throat for four days not as severe as first day, flu like symtoms ( achy body, headaches) fever not more than 100.6. and today cough with phelgm and slight ear pain and Im hearing an echo on my right ear. Question. I dont have insurance so as long as I dont get a severe ear ache I think I could ride this out. But should I go the the E.R. or wait till to tomorrow and go to a urgent care type place. If I go to the e.r it will financially hurt me.
Hi. I can understand all the problems concerned like the symptoms you have of the flu like but also ear pain and echo. Yes, going to ER will be a financial burden. This is a possible solution: Instill nasal decongestant drops 4 times a day followed by plain water steam inhalations. Take tablet like Ibuprofen if it suits you and in proper dosage and at 8 hourly interval. Take any cough syrup as it has antihistamine too. Do not blow the nose at all. Take full bed rest Avoid fumes and dust. If the symptoms are under control you may visit Urgent care tomorrow.
I hope this helps you.
