Suggest Cause & Remedy For Erratic Bowel Motions

Hi there, I have had quite erratic bowel motions for the last few weeks, most of the time they smell quite fatty/oily and most of the time float. I have seen quite a bit of undigested food matter in there as well and have constipation. This isn t normal for my bowel motions. What does this indicate and what can I do to fix the problem? Thank you

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of having erratic bowel movements with small oily floating stools for the last few weeks, there is undigested food also, have some constipation too.
Wants to know the cause and treatment.
This is surely not normal to have such stools.
I would advise you the following:
Send the sample of stool on 3 consecutive days to get the probable diagnosis.
Ultrasound of the abdomen particularly for liver, gall bladder and pancreas.
Tests of blood for blood sugar,amylase, lipase and liver function tests.
This probably may be due to :
Pancreatic insufficiency.
Irritable bowel syndrome.
Enteropathy.
Also may be needed are:
Enteroclysis.
CT scan of the abdomen.
This way the diagnosis will be made and proper treatment planned.
Take pancreatic enzyme supplements.
Make a list of the foods and beverages which cause this and stop altogether,.
