I keep having intense ear pressure in my right ear for 2 days now that only seems to be relieved if I hiccup and the ear pops...but after awhile the ear pressure returns and it feels like intense stabbing pain in my right ear down to my throat just under jawline. I have not been traveling and do not know what is causing it. I am concerned b/c I was diagnosed with Meniere s Disease in 1997 in my left ear and lost hearing in that ear and have intermittent vertigo as a result.
Hi. Noted your past history of left ear affection by Meniere's with its symptoms including deaf ear. Now have intense pressure in the right ear for 2 days, is relived by hiccoughs and ear pops. But the ear pressure returns.
As per the history, there is dysfunction of the left Eustachian tube and I would suggest you the following: - Instill nasal decongestant drops and take steam inhalations. - Consult an ENT Surgeon immediately as this is the only one your have for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations and proper additional treatment. Do not do anything at home as you may worsen the only functional ear.
