Suggest Cause For Excessive Constipation

Hello, I ve been having pain in the lower right side of my stomach. My stomach has also been very bubbly lately. I usually don t have many bowel movements, but lately I have been more constipated than normal. I also have a slight pain in my chest on the left side, just underneath my breast. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to gastritis. This can give bloating as well as constipation. Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole for 2 weeks will be helpful for this. This is available as over the counter in brands like Nexium. Avoid fatty, spicy and junk foods. Carbonated drinks ,alcohol and excess coffee should be avoided also. Take lukewarm water for drinking. If there is no improvement then ultrasound examination of abdomen should be done to rule out problems like gallstones.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
