Suggest Cause And Remedy For Sore Throat With Swollen Tonsils

For the past several days, my throat has been sore on the right side. Today, it suddenly got worst as I took another sip of some coffee. I was able to see in the mirror that my tonsil on the right side was swollen. Pretty soon I could notice my jaw popping/locking up and pain feeling like it's in my ear as well. Also, I've felt very tired and almost as though Ihave a fever with aches and chills. Cause and solution?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms seems to be pointing towards throat infection leading to Tonsillitis which can be bacterial or Viral in nature..
As the throat and ear are connected via Eustachian tube and infection from throat can infect the middle ear causing pain..
Fever and chills are also due to septicemia secondary to infection..

Nothing to worry, you can take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and Azithromycin for 5 days..
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for reducing pain and inflammation.
Take Acetaminophen /tylenol for reducing fever..
Do warm saline gargles..
Avoid spicy and hard foods.
Take a soft diet and sufficient rest.
Steam inhalations and using a humidifier in your room will help..
