Suggest Cause And Remedy For Heartburn

i have heartburning problem for the last few days. when i contacted y famil physician i gave some medition for gas. saying it is gas problem but i didnt have any remidial change out of this again consulting my physician he has writen for endoscopic test. i am worried about the test. kindly answer me what should i do? my age is 54, male. 6ft tall.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about a 60 year old male and understood the concerns.
Heartburn is usually due to acidity related problems in which the stomach contents come up the esophagus to cause esophagitis and related changes causing the symptoms.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Start a PPI like Omeprazole.
Antacid every three hours.
Domperidone at 8 hourly interval - may need a prescription.
Soft bland diet. Small frequent meals.
Control of stress and anxiety.
Get an appointment for Upper GI Endoscopy.
EKG just to rule out any heart related problem since your age is 60.
