Suggest Blood Thinners For Atrial Fibrillation

I am 70 years old and have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. I am trying to decide which blood thinner to use---warfarin, xarelto or eliquis which my doctor has offered me. I want the drug that has the least chance of uncontrolled bleeding. I have been reading about the lawsuits involving xarelto and am a bit concerned. But I would also like to not have to get my blood tested constantly, which is required with warfarin. MY first concern is safety, however. Your opinion?

Hi, if you do not want regular testing, I think warfarin is out of question. Now, you have to decide between Xarelto (rivaroxaban) and eliquis (apixaban).
If safety is your biggest concern, eliquis might be the one with better safety record as assessed from pivotal trials. You cannot take this as a standard evidence because there are no head to head trials comparing eliquis and xarelto.
Hope the above information helps you in deciding about your line of treatment. Thanks.
