Suggest Better Medications For Concerta Headaches

Hi,

I believe I have concerta headaches. I've been taking concerta for 5 years. Headaches have been happening since November 2014 start after taking medication and last 8 hours plus. I've treated other possible causes of headaches and had no improvement for the past 5 months. What can I do to stop these headaches?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic.com!

I'm Dr. Elton Halili, General & Family Physician.

- Did you quit this medication suddenly or conduct a gradual taper? You had been on Concerta for 5 years (it's a long time) and you should conduct a gradual taper.

- So, I guess that you're headache is a withdrawal symptom and not directly a side effect from the actual use of Concerta.

- All you can do is to consult with your psychiatrist to begin again Concerta and then to taper it gradually.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
