Suggest An Alternative Treatment To Get Rid Of Upper Respiratory Infection

I have had an upper respiratory infection which I have assumed was a virus since June 2nd. After about two weeks I improved. Yet, I have a tickle in my airway that keeps me clearing my throat and coughing. Also, my left eustachion tube hurts as well as the left back side of my throat. I can t seem to fully recover and am tired all the time. Should I consider seeing a doctor. I dislike using antibiotics if I don t need to.

Hi,

Actually antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections, such as pneumonia and it won't help viral infections. I think it is better to consult with a physician to know the exact cause of your infection. If it is viral infection you should drink plenty of liquids, warm lemon water, avoid caffeine and alcohol, eat chicken soup, Adjust your room's temperature and humidity, soothe your throat with salt water gargle, use saline nasal drops.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
