Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is on Ativan at this time. ON Monday they are discharging him from the facility. What options does he have as the nurses said they do not usually send patients with an Ativan prescription. This is the first time his seizures have been relieved. Is there something that is not as strong or addictive he can take.
There is only one distinction between the various benzodiazepines. Xanax (alprazolam) and Ativan (lorazepam) are short-acting. Klonopin (clonazepam) and Valium (diazepam) are longer-acting.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
