Suggest Alternative Remedy For Enterococcus Found In Urine Sample

my 5 year old son had a abnormal urine sample which detected enterococcus. im really worried as this sounds serious.he was taking trimethoprim for about 14 days but has now become resistant so today has been given amoxycillan. he hasnt improved and is due a uti scan in 2 weeks but what does this mean, is he at risk of complications and what will happen next. i know this is rare in boys

Enterococcal infection is rare. Collect mid stream urine after proper prepucial retraction and then go for Urine Routine and culture. Treat with proper antibiotics.
UTI scan probably includes Ultrasound KUB with PVR. This may later be followed by MCU if required depending on the ultrasound findings.
