Suggest Alternative Medication For Synthroid

My doctor prescribed synthroid for my hypothyroid problem. Since I started taking it 5 days ago, my insomnia has gotten much worse. I have only been getting about 4 hours of sleep each night. Is there another hypothyroid medication that you can recommend which would not effect my ability to sleep? Thank you, Marsha

Hi Marsha,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Synthyroid is synthetic thyroid hormone given to treat hypthyroidism, in which production of thyroid hormone is defective.
There is no other medication available other than replacement of hormone such as synthyroid.
Kindly take the medication as prescribed. It appears that you are not getting good sleep because of apprehension and over anxiousness.
Kindly relax as such symptoms would subside over a period of time.
You can practice meditation regularly which will relieve stress and relax your mind, and help you to achieve sound sleep.
