Suggest Alternate For Albuterol And Nebulizer To Treat Respiratory Infection

I was given Albuterol to give my 2 yr old daughter with our nebulizer. Well I have tried every trick I can think off and that the internet has to offer to get her to do it and she won t. it wakes her up so cant do it sleeping and when I try to force it on her she fights so hard I think I am going to hurt her. Anything over the counter you suggest for a Respotory infection or he said just a bad cold with chest congestion.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Consult with your doctor regarding the option of changing the dosage route. Instead of nebulizer, the option of syrup can be considered. In case of emergency or imminent wheezing, nebulizer can be used.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
