Suggest A Remedy For Pain In Groin, Muscles And Chest In An Elderly Person

Hello, I am a 691/2 year old woman in good health. The only prescription drug that I take(prescribed 6 mos. ago) is Alendronate Sodium Tablets, 70mg. once weekly for bone health. I am noticing some side effects-not severe but causing pain in my groin area, muscle pain, occasional chest pain, a general feeling of not feeling well . Do I need to be on a bone health medication or can I take otc calcium or other supplements that won t cause side effects? Thank you, Karen

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
No OTC calcium supplements are not alternative for alendronate in strengthening bones especially in postmenopausal women.
I would suggest you to take calcium supplements along with alendronate. Take pain killer like advil in case of moderate to severe intense pain.
Hope it helps best.
