Suggest A Pain Medication For Microscopic Colitis

I ve been diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis and have pain issues from a car accident. I was told not to take NASID and just recently no Tramadol since it can make it worst. I m allergic to codeine. So what pain medication can I take? I m on Budesonide...just dropped from 9 mg down to 6 mg for the rest of the year.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Microscopic colitis treatment will depend on the severity.
I would suggest to consult the gastroenetrologist and take proper treatmetn.
You should have to take cholestrymine and steroid enema for better relief.
Dicyclomine can be useful to reduce the pain
Steroid should be used for the 6-8 week with tapering dose.
You should not used steroid for the long time .so stop the use of the steroid for more than 6-8 week as it cause more complication.
Mesalazine suppository and spray should be used and should be take for the 1-2 year to prevent the relapse.
Drink plenty of luke warm water

Hope this may help you
