Suffering With Pneumonia, Was Administerd Rocephin Directly Into The Vein Within A Very High Rate. Any Danger?

My wife is in the hospital with pneumonia and is being administered rocephin intravenously. Normally the rocephin is metered through a pump at the rate of 100mL/Hr. Tonight the nurse bypassed the metering pump and ran the rocephin directly into the vein . It completed in about 5 minutes. Is there any danger in administering rocephin at this rate?

Hi
Thanx for your query
I can feel your concern
Rocephin should ideally be given through meter pump
However if it can also be given slow intravenously
If your wife doesn't develop any allergic reaction after injection then it will have no problem
Wishing her good health
Regards
Dr imran
