Suffering With High Uric Acid, Is It Controllable ?

Hi I am 31 yr old male. Nonvegeterial and occasional drinker ( avg 3 times/month). Recently detected for high uric acid i.e. 9.1. Immediately consulted my doctor . He started Zyloric BID. I have put on strict diet control which is stopped nonveg and alcohol. Is this level (9.1 ) too much than other high uric acid patients? IS it controllable ?

hi for male up to3.4- 7.1mg/dl is normal females 2.3-6 mg/dl normal so your uric acid is marginally raised ,already you started zyloric 100mg BID know you just go with a treatment and try to avoid alcohol especially beer which has high purine level (uric acid) and also avoid cauliflower, mushroom, lentils ,spinach, organ meat ,yeast product and consume excess food low in purine like # Refined cereals - breads, pasta, flour, tapioca, cakes
# Milk and milk products, eggs
# Lettuce, tomatoes, green vegetables
# Cream soups without meat stock
# Water, fruit juice, carbonated drinks
# Peanut butter, fruits and nuts
# Keep well hydrated, drinking 2 to 3 liters of water per day, unless you were told otherwise. and FEBOUXSTAT 40MG TABLETS are recent drug for hyperuricemia but you go with your prescription..get well soon

Hi,
It's good that you have already started taking precautions.
You have stopped nonveg rich in uric acid but it is also recommended to increase alkalinity of body by taking fresh fruits and vegetables.
Yes,it is controllable.
Actually, early detection and treatment of high blood uric acid goes a long way in warding off the complications resulting from high levels of uric acid which can be really serious.
What matters more is that u have no complications and it is detected early.
