Hi,
Since you are taking two medication of controlling the blood pressure, it means your blood pressure must be in the moderate range. You have also mentioned that you are also diabetic.
Before you stop your medication for blood pressure I would suggest you to consult your doctor and it is dangerous to suddenly stop blood pressure medication. But if you have some problem with some specific bp medication than it can easily be changed as there are many drugs which can be used to control bp. Best way of treatment of bp is to choose the most appropriate medication which suits the patient and this can be done with the doctors consultation. There is nothing in worrying about changing the bp medication. Now a days the best medication for controlling bp with diabetes is consider to be ACE inhibitors.
Another important thing is about your diabetes which you said that you are trying to control by dieting. Now it is important to understand that only dieting can not control you diabetic. Dieting is important to maintaining blood sugar level along with medication. So if you are diagnosed with frank diabetes that I would suggest you to start taking medication for the diabetes also, because some time this can be dangerous. Specially in your situation when you have raised blood pressure also.
Thanks and take care.
