Suffering From Vitiligo For 11 Years. What Sort Of Treatment Will Help?

My son have a vitiligo problem in the body & in hand from the age of 10 years and still at the age of 21 it is still active.I would be very grateful to you if you give me the advice for this treatment through medicine and cream used for this purpose.

Hi Sunil,
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease.
Exact cause is not known.
There may be some genetic role also.
In some cases the lesions heal without treatment.
In some cases , even after treatment the lesions may increase.
It means that the disease prognosis is totally unpredictable.
In many cases, the proper treatment may halt the progress and may cure the the disease.
Psoralen containing tablets,PUVA,immunobuster like levamisole, low dose of steroids in pulses are the treatments given by dermatologists.
Local application of psoralen containing cream or lotion and tacrolimus or pimecrolimus may improve the patches.
You consult dermatologist , discuss with him about the diseae and the go for treatment..ok
