Hello,
I am suffering from vitiligo since 8-10 years and started treatment at a very early stage but because of my irresponsible nature i dint continue the treatment and therefore the white patches kept increasing. At one point of time my treatment was working and the patches got reduced but when i stopped the treatment they start appearing again.I am doing a job now kindly suggest me a permanant treatment for this.I know this tratment will take time.
Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
You seem to be having unstable and active vitiligo.
It would be helpful for me if you could tell me-
1. The extent of body and sites of body involved.
2. Has it spread in the last 6 months?
3. Do you have any associated thyroid problems?
If it is actively spreading, you will require a course of oral steroid tablets to control the disease. Then depending on the extent, you could use a topical steroid, immunomodulators like Tacrolimus or even phototherapy to get the colour back.
Antioxidant tablets also help.
There is no permanent treatment for this unfortunately. Further ,it has to be done according to the patient' s response.
Hope this helped.
Please feel free to get back to me if you have any further queries.
