Hello! I have been suffering from stomach pain, like someone has punched me. Nausea constantly bug hungry at times. I eat and of course it feels worse. I do have gastroparesis and have been treated for a bad hydrogen breath test that was positive along with GERD , hiatal hernia and have had eosinaphylic esophagitis . My recent test if my gallbladder was fine at 91 % the GI Dr said. I am lost and frustrated. I am constantly in pain in my abdominal region. I am starting to feel crazy because it hasn t been identified. I take phenergan for the nausea which sometimes helps and a lot if Tylenol for the pain. I also take domperidone for the gastroparesis and am type 2 diabetic. Please help.

Hello dear...

The symptoms as mentioned by you can be attributed to Gastro esophageal reflux disease, in which there is reflux of acid from stomach to esophagus due to relaxation of the sphincter at the lower part of esophagus.

Management consists of:
1. Lifestyle modification- like weight reduction, sleeping on the left side, or with upper body raised.
2. Dietary modification- avoid consuming irritating substances such as acidic & rich foods, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.
3. Medical management- Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, etc. (which prevent acid formation in stomach)
4. Surgical treatment- includes Fundoplication, done when medical measures fail, in which the upper part of the stomach is wrapped around the lower esophageal sphincter to strengthen the sphincter and prevent acid reflux

So, it will be better to consult a Gastroenterologist and discuss regarding the management plan.
There is no need to worry...you will be fine.
