Suffering From Sinus

i have very bad sinus problems, always have. ive gotten sick with a cold, coughing,sore throat, achy head and ear ache. a day or 2 after my ear began to hurt, my hearing went out. went to er and was given cipro something (an antibiotic. I been taking it all week. Whats bothering me is that i still can not hear out of my left ear,at all. I tried holding my nose shut an blowing to make it pop an open up but it dont work, what can i do to get my hearing back

I have gone through your query and believe that you have a middle ear infection. There are 2 possibilities in this case. One is that you have an ear infection by a bacteria that is resistant to ciprofloxacin. In this case, the problem can be resolved by seeing a Doctor again and getting a culture and sensitivity done which will help you know what antibiotic the bacteria is sensitive to.

The next possibility is that you have a CSOM which happens when there is a ear drum perforation and the Antibiotics are not helping. In the second case, the person may need surgery to help.

Do follow up after you see the Doctor if you need more help. All the best.
