Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

She is 19 and she has severe depression. She is currently having crying spells and pain in chest. The pain is most likely somatic pain of depression. She needs treatment from a Psychiatrist. Before starting treatment I would like to get her evaluated for any cardiac problem. Get her ECG done and then visit a psychiatrist. Medicines like SSRI, SNRI are very useful in depression. Cognitive therapy is non medicinal treatment for depression. Keep her under proper vigilance as such patients may attempt suicide. Visit a Psychiatrist ASAP.

Thanks
