Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding sensorynural hearing loss of moderate level in left ear and having nasal polyps as well, and you are worried about progress of disease to right ear .

Here I would like to say that you should take proper btreatment for your nsal polyps, which will be decided by examination and investigation of nose by ENT specialist. Because these polyps may give rise to recurrent sore throat, and infection from throat may reach to ear by eustachian tube and will develop acute otitis media, repeated attacks of acute otitis media may ultimately give rise to chronic otitis media which will affect your hearing. though it will be of conductive nature at the begening.

For the protection of right ear you should do-

(a) Avoid smoking habbit.

(b) Don't use drugs having OTOTOXICITY. therfore during treatment of any disease please tell this fact to your treating doctor.

(c) If you have a hereditory history of sensorynural hearin loss than be remain allert.

(d) Periodic checking of blood sugar as to controll diabetes just to save from diabetes induce hearing loss (diadetic Labyrinthitis).

(e) Protect ear from loud noice.

I hope your query is well explained.

Regards.
