Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello.. my daughter is 11 months old. and she is suffering from loose motion for past one day.our paedetrician has prescribed her medicines and has asked to keep her hydrated.we are doing the needed but my doubt is that do I need to wake her up in the night and give water? also she didnt have anything so what do I need to give her for solid feed?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. 1.Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry about waking up and giving ORS. 2.You can use cerelac...any flavour will do. Avoid fruit juices as they might aggravate diarrhea. You can give zinc supplements & ORS apart from normal vegetarian porridges & soups. 3. Solid foods can be given. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
