Suffering From Hypothyroid And PCOD, Overweight. Prescribed Reeshape. Will This Work?

hello doctor,,,
My name is salma from bangalore.... my age is 25 n my wieght is 80 with 5.2 hieght...... im suffering from hypothyroid
frm last 4 yrs n suffering from PCOD too.. i get my periods 2 yrs once.... i have completly gone by taking ths tablets from 12 yrs.... recently i have concerned gynyk specialist n she has prescribed me to take 1 reeshape tablet 120mg evy day around 6pm to 7pm.... doctor i juss wanna knw tht will ths reeshape work on me..??? n hw long it takes to come for my ideal wieght...?? i dnt have any idea wat to do...??? plz suggets me n help me in getting completly rid of this......

Reeshape is a medication that helps obese patients loose some weight and together with exercise and dietary changes, can contribute in a significant weight loss. Of course like any other drug, reeshape comes with its own side effects. Most common gastro-intestinal side effects seen for short period are oily and loose stools, oily spotting which can be minimized by restricting dietary fat of total daily calories.
Another medication that is well indicated for your condition is metformin which can at a go regulate your menstruation and make you loose some weight.
You did no make mention of how your hypothyroidism is managed. That too could be responsible for your absent period. You might require supplement of thyroid hormones.
