Suffering From Hair Loss. Used Minoxidil And Finasteride. Stopped Medication And Having Hair Loss. Continue Medication?

Hi I am Ruman. I am 27years old.From 2006 my hair was becoming thinner & thinner & becoming blad.I consulted with a skin doctor.He advised me to use Minoxidil 5% two times & eat Finasteride (1mg) one per day.I continue it about three years.I found no significant hair regrow but hair fall rate become slight slow.But I stop using those medic after three years used.Now in 2013 i feel my hair also becoming much thinner & going almost blad.I can mention that I have a family history of baldness in mother trend.Now I really want to keep my hair & regrow.Do I start again minoxidil & Finasteride (1mg)?Is any other treatment of cure of baldness? please let me know.I have hepatitis B positive & High DNA.Does Finasteride(1mg) any side effect of lever??please let me know.Please help me how I can treat to cure baldness .thanks.

Androgenic alopecia is genetically inherited. Treatment with anti androgens like Finasteride only reduces hair loss and maintains the existing hair. It does not have the capacity to stimulate re growth of hair.

Minoxidil increases the size of hair follicles thickening them. It also helps in improving the blood circulation of scalp, a feature which is supposed to improve hair growth. But both these agents are effective only as long as they are continued. Stopping them will arrest the therapeutic benefit.

Since Finasteride is extensively metabolized (destroyed) in liver, it will be better if you don't continue taking it. You can opt for hair transplantation as you are young and also because it is a permanent solution.
