General Surgeon 's  Response

from all the symptoms you have mentioned, It seems like ACID PEPTIC DISEASE to me, Also theres is a possiblity of hiatus hernia, which has to be ruled out so if you get recuurent symptoms, you need to undergo an upper Gastrointestinal scopy.Ideally during the procedure ,if doc finds any imflammed areas, he might take a swab to rule out H.Pylori.If it is positive, 4 weeks of drug treatment will settle many of your symptoms. And if Upper Gi scopy shows hiatus hernia, depending upon the grade and severity, mostly medication will take care of it in some cases surgery may be required. These are the possibilities and hence YOU SHOULD CONSULT A GASTROENTEROLOGIST. Till then you must limit tea or coffee or cola to only once a day, that too not on empty stomach and not in the evenings or night. What is your weight and do you consume alcohol, any other medical history? Alcohol and spicy, oily, fatty diet and smoking has to be completely avoided. eat at regular intervals. consume more veg and fruits and aprrox 3 litres of water daily. Avoid lying down for atleast 1 hr after any meals. Better to start you on Proton pump inhibitors for 2 weeks with diet modifications and regular exercise and the tests i have metioned above... definately by all this it will be resolved. Take care
