Suffering From Dysentery. Prescribed Econorm And Bifilac. Is Medication Safe?

I have a son of 4 years old, he is suffering from dysentery since 3 days. Doctor prescribed Econorm Sachet 2 twice a day to control his loose motions. He did have fever on 1st day..but after the dose he is being active. Its 3rd day already dysentry is still not cured. Dr. has changed the medication to Bifilac 5 ml. twice a day. The child has no vomiting, no fever so far and has normal eating habits and still active. Is Bifilac fine?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your child is having loose motions which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
Most important is to maintain and monitor
Hydration.
Continue with probiotic as advised as it helps in restoring normal flora.
Also give lemonade,buttermilk,curd,banana,rice porridge.

Watch for any feature of dehydration like decreased urine output/lethargy/increased thirst.

In case symptoms persist get him reevaluated.

Hope this helps.
God bless
