Suffering From Acne. Using Facelin, Nandoxin Gel, Brevoxyl Wash, Dry Skin On Stopping. Permanent Cure?

Hi Doctor, I am suffering from bad acne . I am using faceclin at night, Nandoxin gel in morning and having tablet Azifast 3 days a week (morning and night). Though it seemed to improved the condition initially. However, now it is again same situation. I was also using the face wash Brevoxyl creamy wash, but, i stopped as it was drying the facial skin badly. And now I am using The Body Shop Tea tree face wash. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Neha,
Thanks for writing to us.
I would like to make few changes in your treatment plan.
As brevoxyl face wash is making your skin dry, you may continue using tea tree face wash from the body shop if it suits you well. You may also try mild Glycolic acid face wash( aha glow) or salicylic acid face wash( Sali ac or saslic)
Continue with oral azithromycin
Faceclin and nadoxin are antibacterial anti acne creams. I would advise you continue with faceclin twice in a day and apply adapalene gel in night only over acne lesions. Stop nadoxin cream.
Hopefully with these your acne should improve. However if not much change is seen, you may consult your dermatologist for starting isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is very helpful in controlling acne but should always be started under a doctor's supervision.
Hope that helps. Take care
