Suffering From Cervical Cancer 3B, On Chemo, Radiation. Elevated ALT, AST Levels. Any Risks ?

My mother-in-law (age:50) is suffering from Cervical Cancer - III B. She is undergoing Chemo and Radiation therapies. Recently doctor took up the Liver Function Test. We found that AST(129 IU/L) and ALT(97 IU/L) levels have been elevated to higher levels and other parameters in the test such as Bilirubin, Alkaline phosphates, Albumin, Gamma GT, etc., are in the normal level.
We're worried whether the elevated ranges of AST & ALT will create serious risks at this stage. Kindly clarify us.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum .
The A ST & ALT levels are 5-50 I /U .
If their level increases more then 300 I /U then it is a cause of concern.
Otherwise non specific and need not to worry at all.
Why this level increases?
In simple words due to mild side effect of chemotherapy and radiation therapy their level elevated ( mild damage in liver but self regulatory).
Regular check up during therapy is very necessary for these enzymes and C B C.
Good luck for your mother.
