Suffering Flu Since 3 Weeks, Still Sore Throat, Cough, Tiredness? How Long To Cure ?

Hi i was diagnosed with the flu about three and half weeks ago. Is it usual for someone to still be feeling ill. I have a sore tthroat - cough and very tired. I have gone back to work but don t seem to be able to cope with doing a full day. I am usually a well person and this has really taken it out of me. If this continues how much longer will it take for me to feel well again. thank you

Hello,
Where are you located ? Do you have fever above 100*C with sore throat currently? There is a bad flu virus epidemic going on in certain parts of world. I would advice you to take healthy balanced diet with lots of fluids & rest for 7-8 hrs daily. Sometimes, people get repeated/next infection in couple of weeks. Chew cough lozenges & take hot fomentation for throat & see if you feel better. If you still feel same in next 5 days, visit your doctor & get blood work done to rule out any problematic bacterial throat infection.
Also, get Flu shot if you haven't taken yet.
