Hi, chickenpox also known as varicella, caused by varicella zoster virus, commonly found in paediatric age group in mild to moderate form. But in adult it can become severe leading to complications ..like myocarditis, hepatitis, encephalitis, pyoderma, cellulitis etc...and severe deep scars.. Infectiousness remains for one to two weeks. You should take rest for 2 to 3 weeks. Prompt and perfect treatment prrevent heavy scarring. Acyclovir and famcyclovir are best used in varicella. After the cure of disease, vitamin E creamor hayluronic acid gel.. may be used to improve scars quality... Ok

Hi Arunava.
Thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

1. In most people, the full recovery occurs in 7 to 10 days. But sometimes, it might take 2 to 3 weeks for complete recovery. It is always safer to wait till you feel completely alright. Preferably you can join after 3 weeks.

2. Dermadew is an aloe vera preparation. Aloevera is known for its anti inflammatory and healing properties. You can continue to use it if it agrees with you.

3.The scab fades away slowly. Olive oil is an emollient and may be effective in preventing scars. It should be used only after the scabs become dry. You can apply olive oil for 10 to 15 minutes before washing your face. Use mild soaps.

4. A person is infectious far a maximum period of 15 days ie., till the blisters form dry scabs and drops down. After that he/she is not infectious.

I hope this is useful to you.
