Suffered Stroke With Hallucinations, Diagnosed Acute Anti Cholineric Syndrome, MRI Normal. Reason ?

I recently was admitted to hospital - I was very confused and had bladder retention, dysphagia, swollen lips and was admitted ? stroke and next day followed this with hallucinations....I ate something at a dinner .that set it off - I remember very little about the initial day, I do remember the hallicinations, they went on for ten days. I am more forgetful nowadays and it worries me that my CT scan said I had frontal lobe atrophy - I was told this was normal for my age of 65. I was told my MRI of my brain was normal. My son in law (medic) diagnosed acute anti cholineric syndrome....I had all the features...I met with a neurologist briefly who thought it was linked with migraine ( I do not have this normally)...I am worried about myself - I am not sure what to believe or think...thanks t

Neurologist 's  Response
Thanks for the query,
I understand your concern
I have noted your medical problems
The neurological illness that can present in this way are as follows
1. Ingestion of shell fish/reef fish contaminated with saxitoxin
2.Guillain- Barre syndrome
2. Porphyria
3. Spinal cord disease
4. Porphyria
5. Botulism

You may consult another local neurologist for the needful
With due respect to your neurologist, I donot think that it is related to migraine

Further, you need a detailed memory and neurophychological testing for the diagnosis and management of forgetfulness.

Hope this clarifies your query
Best regards
