Suffered from umbilical hernia during pregnancy, experience debilitating pain with stomach bloated. Cause for bloating?

Hello, I had a baby 7 months ago, and suffered an umbilical hernia as a result of the pregnancy. I now experience debilitating pain that is usually remedied by passing gas or a bowl movement. I am scheduled for surgery later this month, but my stomach now looks more bloated than before. Should I be worried about the bloating?
