Suffer from chronic constipation. Tried laxatives, stool softeners. Any cure?

HI, I have chronic constipation, I have had bowel problems all my life. I had two colon scopes, both where fine, no polyps or anything. I use a mild womens laxative once a week, to have a movement as nothing else seems to work. I have used prune juice, wheat bran, flax seed, all work in the beginning,, but then not so much. I have been told by a doctor I probably have a lazy bowel. I have also used stool softners and Laxaday, recemmended by my doctor. I am 52 years old and a women. Do you have any ideas for me. Thanks
