Suffer From DVT In The Leg After Surgery For Ovarian Cyst. Biopsy Showing Endometrial Adenocarcinoma In The Ovaries. Liver Complication

hello sir, i need some suggestions regarding my mother's health condition. She underwent ovarian cyst surgery, as a post-surgical complication she is suffering from DVT in her left leg. For this DVT, doctors suggested her to take ACITROM 2 and 3 mg alternatively. Biopsy reports of the removed ovarian cyst/ tumor says that its endometrial adenocarcinoma in both ovaries. But, omentum is free from tumor cells. Doctors suggested her to take 4 cycles of chemotherapy. Paclitaxel and carboplatin are the drugs which are given during chemotherapy. At the end of 3rd cycle, they have conducted liver function test and ultrasound scan which revealed that the SGOT, SGPT values in LFT are high and there is increase in size of the liver. Due to this complication, they have stopped chemo, since its risky to continue chemo because it may lead to liver damage. Meanwhile they have conducted HbsAg and HCV tests, reports are normal. My question is, Is that okay to stop chemotherapy with 3 cycles, and what is the best medicine to be given to reduce the liver inflammation? Sir, just by giving 3 cycles of chemotherapy i have seen my mom suffering from this liver complication, then how about the patients who receive around 10 to 12 chemo cycles. Does it depend upon resistance power of the patient? Am really confused and tensed about her condition.

Hello,
Every person experiences chemotherapy differently, both physically and emotionally. Each person experiences side effects from chemotherapy differently, and different chemotherapy drugs cause different side effects. Fortunately, as the science of cancer treatment has advanced, so has the science of managing treatment side effects.
As the age advances there are also associated medical conditions which can make a person less tolerant to these medicines and moreover it also depends on how healthy the patient was before starting the chemotherapy.
Generally these side effects go away, once the chemotherapy is stopped.
There are different combinations of chemotherapy drugs which can be given in a patient and once your mother recovers from the side effects, your doctor shall start a new combination of chemotherapy drugs.
Don't worry,thing should settle soon.
Thanks
