Sudden appearance of hard knot on the wrist, no instance of injury. Could this be bone spur?

Hi my name is Jessica I am 30 yrs old and recently discovered a new hard knot on my right wrist . It wasn t there yesterday. It sits directly above the line of where my wrist and hand meet and it follows my thumb angle. Is it just a bone spur? I have not had any old or new injuries but I am right handed and take a lot if notes for school. Could this be the cause of the possible bone spur?

.Thanks for your query. You have noticed a swelling over wrist Joint suddenly. It is most likely to be a what is called as Gangion which is small sac containing a synovial fluid and is communicating with Joint.Pl consult some surgeon who will either inject a hot normal saline or may excise it if necessary.
