Strained Lower Left Abdominal Muscle, Tenderness, 4 Weeks To Heal, Average Healing Time ?

Four weeks ago I strained a lower left abdominal muscle while having a bowel movement. I ve had CT scan to rule out diverticulitis and saw a gastro doctor who confirmed the muscle pull. I have good days regarding the tenderness but all of a sudden another tender day. I know this is your core area but can it take this long to heal?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The strained muscle can take 6-8 weeks for healing if adequate rest is not provided. You can take muscle relaxants for earlier relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
