Stomach Pain, Abdominal Lump. Blood Test, Scan Ordered. Causes For Symptoms?

My father who is 78 has been suffering from a pain in his stomach around the belt line on the right hand side. His local GP said there was a lump and does not know at this time what it could be. He has blood tests tomorrow and is then going to hospital for a scan in two weeks. I think he is afraid it could be serious. At this stage what do you think it could be?

Hello sir,
Taking into consideration the old age and a lump, it is very important to rule out malignancy . Having said that, it could be a benign tumour also.He would require a scan to get a basic picture and might require CT scan/MRI based on the scan.
Let's be positive and hope for the best, sir.
