Stomach Discomfort On Lying Down, Bubbling Sound. Taking Protonix, Diovan. Treatment?

I am a female 45 yrs old and for the past month or so, I have stomach discomfort when I lay down. It does not bother me during the day. If I lay on my left side, it does not hurt as bad. I do have a lot of bubbly sounds and gas. I take Protonix and Diovan. Been on Protonix about 3 yrs. Can you please help me understand whats going on?

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms can be due to increased gas production as a result of gastritis.
Valsartan present in Diovan can cause increase flatulence as a side effect.

You should discuss with your treating doctor for the same.
I would advise that you can take Domperidone 30 mg along with protonix(pantoprazole). This will give you relief from your symptoms.
A probiotic daily will have added benefits.

Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Endoscopy.
2. Ultrasound abdomen.
3. Liver Function Test(LFT).

A clinical examination and investigations may be be helpful in planning further medical management.
