Stitches After Accident Under Chin Removed, Feel Lump Under The Cut. Is This Normal ?

I just had stitches removed from under my chin yesterday. I had a bike accident where I landed on my chin on cement. My chin has been very numb this week but as the numbness has gone down, I ve felt the area where the cut is and there seems to be a large lump under the cut. It does not move and it is very hard. Is this normal after having stitches removed?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear customer,

As per the symptoms the chances of haematoma formation might be there at the site of injury and stiches. It may take 2-3 weeks time for the haematoma to dissolve completely. You should take adequate vitamin c for the symptoms to improve early. The induration may also form at the site of injury and it will soften as the time passes.

Thank you
