Started Birth Control. Will The Periods Become Lighter? Had Tubal Migration

Hello. I am curious to know if my period will be lighter or shorter since I started birth control pills 2-3 days before it is supposed to start. My periods have been horribly long and painful for a long time and I am trying the pill to see if it will help. I had tubal migration 6 years ago so contraception is not an issue. Will it still start and will the pill make a difference?

Hi,
Oral contraceptive is used for profuse bleeding and long period.
With 3-4 months of courses you will be alright.
Start medicine on fifth day of period and continue without missing the tablet.
Ok and take care.
